Why do Muslims hasten to perform the funeral prayer?
Answer:
This practice is on account of the directive of the Prophet (SAS) when he said, ‘three things must not be delayed, salaah when its time has arrived; the funeral prayer when the body is ready for burial; and the marriage of a girl when her match is found (recorded by Imam Tirmizi)
