Question:

If two people start jamaat but halfway through the follower leaves, does the imam carry on loudly or quietly as if they are reading their own namaaz?

Do they have the option to do qiraat quietly or loudly?

Or do they have to carry on reading loudly?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

They will carry on reading aloud. If the imam made the intention of imamat, it is necessary for him to read aloud.1
