Is It Permissible To Use Condoms in Islam

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by DarulIftaBirmingham

Question:

Is it permissible to use condoms in Islam not to control birth but to delay making a baby after 1 delivery?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

Coitus interruptus is permissible in Islam. [1]  This was practiced by the Companions. Jābir (RA) said: We used to practice coitus interruptus during the lifetime of Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) while the Qur’an was being revealed. [2] The same ruling applies to the use of condoms.

However, birth control without a valid reason is makruh tanzihan (lightly disliked). [3]
