Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by DarulIftaBirmingham

Question

If the baby is halfway out the mother and shows signs of life, then dies, is it considered alive in terms of تكفين and Janazah?

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيْم

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

The baby should be given a bath, wrapped in cloth, and buried. If the baby showed signs of life (like making sounds or moving body parts, etc) before it died, even if it was only partway out the mother, then it will be given a name and prayed over.[1]
