Question

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

السلام عليكم و رحمة الله وبركاته

Honorable Mufti, I pray You are well.

I realized that I had floor detergent containing 5% alcohol. Is it allowed to clean the floors of my house with that detergent?

I think the alcohol used in cleaning products is synthetic and therefore not inebriating since you could not drink it, but I’m not sure.

Answer:

If it’s not the drinkable alcohol, you may use the detergent to clean the floors.
