I would like some advice. I converted to Islam from the age of 17 I married straightaway. We have been married for 10 years and have 3 children.
During the first 6 years, we used to fight a lot he has given me 2 talaqs which are not in dispute.
He gave me a third one during a fight it was not intentional and he wrote I divorce you followed by swear words because I kept saying to him in anger just give me it give me to divorce you not a man I understand it was very wrong but we were going through a really bad time and he is short tempered. so he wrote I divorce you on a piece of paper he said he didn’t intend to divorce me it was more to keep me quiet and I didn’t take it seriously. Now several years later we are really confused as to whether we are now living a haram life are we divorced I would really appreciate an answer.
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيْم
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
The third talaq (divorce) is binding and your nikah (marriage) with your husband has now completely ended. You have now become mugal’lazah (completely haram upon your husband).
Only Allah knows best
