Why zakah is not given to a Syyid family although, they accept sadqah etc. Please, reply in detail.

(Fatwa: 1296/1296/M=1433)
It is not lawful for a Sayyid to take zakah and wajib sadaqah as well as it is unlawful for a person to give to him. The holy Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) has prohibited it and said that zakah is the filth of people hence it is not halal for Sadat (Sayyid).
إن الصدقة محرمة على بني هاشم (حديث)
