In Islam is it permitted to take medicine [tablets] once the pregnancy is confirmed. If Yes? Within how many days?

Once pregnancy is confirmed it is highly undesirable and unlawful to use medicine for abortion:
و یکرہ ان تسعی لاسقاط حملھا الخ ای مطلقا قبل التصور و بعدہ (الشامی: 9/615)
