How should someone who has broken around 400 fasts intentionally over the years repent?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
As salaam, Dear Respected Mufti Sahaab, What if someone did not take his deen seriously and broke around 400 fasts intentionally over the years? Does that mean i have to keep 24000 days of consecutive fasts? Or am I grossly misunderstanding something? Please help, i am really worried now as i am taking my deen seriously, is another way to repent as it is very diffcult.

Answer

(Fatwa: 1601/1483/B=1430)

He should give one kaffrah for all the years i.e. feed sixty poor persons two times meals. Do not commit such act again and fear Allah. Also, you have to perform qadha of the fasts you broke.

It is to be noted that the ruling of feeding sixty people will be applied only when he is unable to fast for sixty consecutive days.
