With reference to Fatwa: 405/337/B=1433 (is it compulsory to wash the area under chin during wudhu?) I have read (Bahishti Zewar) it is Fardh to wash from forehead to bottom of chin during wudhu. I referred ‘Under chin’ the area beyond bottom of chin, that is, in between bottom of chin and throat. In other words, it is area under the jaw. Please answer once again whether it is Fardh to wash above said area. In other words, if you do not wash above said area then does it invalidate your wudhu?

The under-chin area is up to throat, so it is necessary to wash the face up to that area.
