(Fatwa: 792/662/B=1432)
(1) The prevalent mangani (engagement) in which involves gifts and feasts is not proved by the Shariah.
(2) If that girl is mature she can choose any boy herself, but it is better to seek the advice of one’s parents and elder members of the family. Such marriages carry blessings.
(3) Yes, a Sayyid boy can marry a Khan girl.
