Does drinking beer require my friend to miss any prayers?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
Dear Muftisab, My friend is a namaazi but he drinks beer sometimes. I want to know as to how much time he should not pray if he drinks beer. Please note, that he is not in nasha if he drinks beer as he drinks very little of the same Regards!

Answer

(Fatwa: 1539/1262=D/1430)

Beer is a kind of alcohol (wine), it is unlawful to drink. You should convince your friend to abstain from drinking and leave this habit. However, while performing salah, he should be sure that there is no effect of the beer. He should perform salah after cleaning the mouth, as the Quran prohibited performing salah in the state of intoxication. The verse was revealed when the wine was not yet prohibited which was later declared haram absolutely.
