What is the meaning of “Aaquib” & is it ok to call myself Mohammed Aaquib?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
My name is Aaquib Nazir and I have two questions regarding my name:
(1) I want to know the meaning of the word “Aaquib”.
(2) My name is Aaquib, can I call myself as Mohammed Aaquib? An elder in tabligh Jamah asked me not to. Kindly enlighten.

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Aquib means ‘followers’ etc. You may add Muhammad before Aquib. Why did the tablighi friend forbid you adding Muhammad ask the reason from him and submit the question again then in-shaAllah we shall write the reply.
