Question:
A pearl is a thing that is found in sea shell animals. Is a pearl pure? A face cream that does contain pearl-powder is it permissible to use?
Answer:
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
Pearls are pure. It is permissible to use a face cream which contains pearl powder as long as the other ingredients are of a permissible nature.[1]

(قَوْلُهُ: هُوَ مَطَرُ الرَّبِيعِ) أَيْ أَصْلُهُ مِنْهُ قَالَ الْقُهُسْتَانِيُّ: هُوَ جَوْهَرٌ مُضِيءٌ يَخْلُقُهُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى مِنْ مَطَرِ الرَّبِيعِ الْوَاقِعِ فِي الصَّدَفِ الَّذِي قِيلَ إنَّهُ حَيَوَانٌ مِنْ جِنْسِ السَّمَكِ يَخْلُقُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى اللُّؤْلُؤَ فِيهِ كَمَا فِي الْكَرْمَانِيِّ.
