RESPECTED MUFTI SAHIB,PLEASE CAN YOU KINDLY INFORM US WHERE SADAQAH MONEY CAN BE USED.MANY TIMES SADAQAH MONEY IS GIVEN IN THE MASJID.CAN THIS MONEY BE USED IN THE MASJID OR DOES IT HAVE TO BE GIVEN TO THE POOR?WHAT KIND OF MONEY APART FROM ZAKAT CANNOT BE USED IN THE MASJID?
There are two types of Sadaqah, namely optional Sadaqah and compulsory Sadaqah. Optional Sadaqah is where a person freely gives money to a good cause and hopes for a reward from Allah Ta’ālā; this type of Sadaqah can be given to the Masjid. The second type of Sadaqah is one that is mandatory, whether through the initial dictates of the Sharī‘ah such as Zakat and Sadaqat al-Fitr or through a person making it binding and compulsory upon himself such as taking a vow, Kafārah etc. Any type of Sadaqah, which is compulsory upon a person, has to be given in the same avenues that a person would give for zakat, i.e. poor and needy; thus, it cannot be given to the Masjid.
باب المصرف قوله: (أي مصرف الزكاة والعشر) يشير إلى وجه مناسبته هنا، والمراد بالعشر ما ينسب إليه كما مر، فيشمل العشر ونصفه المأخوذين من أر ض المسلم وربعه المأخوذ منه إذا مر على العاشر، أفاده ح.
وهو مصرف أيضا لصدقة الفطر والكفارة والنذر وغير ذلك من الصدقات الواجبة كما في القهستاني (رد المحتار ج 2 ص 339 , سعيد)
