Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

Assalaam u Alaikum Mufti Sahib. What is the procedure to beautify the beard? 1) I have a very curly thick beard that some people say is untidy. I keep it combed but there are some hairs that stick out. Should I even them out or just combing is enough? 2) What kind of oil and or perfume did Rasool Allah Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam use on his beard?

Answer

1. If the strands of hair from the bears is more than the length of your
fist, you may trim them. If they are within the length of your fist, you may
tidy your beard by applying il and combing it.

2. Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) advised to use olive oil.
