(1)Could you please tell me who the awlyiya are. Are they saints of the past or are they some which are still living today???(2) Who are the Tabi’een??(3) Is it ok for a muslim male to wear a silver chain around his neck and wrist?? Jazakallah khair for your help.
1. A person who is devoted towards worshipping Allah Ta’ala and abstains
from all types of major and minor sins is called a Waliy, the plural of
which is Awliyaa. Waliy means friend. It is because of this person’s
dedication that he reaches a stage where he becomes the close friend of
Allah Ta’ala. It will be correct to call such a person a Wali or a saint.
2. Taabi’een are those people who had seen the Sahaaba in the state of
Imaan. Sahaaba are those people who had seen the prophet (Sallallaahu Alayhi
Wasallam) in the state of Imaan.
