Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Brother in Islam,

If you have deliberately committed the act in reference, then that is a shameful act and major sin. Shariah has emphasized on shame and modesty.

It is stated in the Hadith that Rasulullah (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) said:

Faith has seventy odd branches and modesty (Al-Haya’) is a branch of faith. (Sunan An-Nasaa’i 5004) [1]

Modesty and Imaan are together. If one of them is removed, the other is removed. (Adabul Mufrad 1313) [2]

One of the sayings of the early Prophets which the people have got is: If you don’t feel ashamed (from Haya’: pious shyness from committing religeous indiscretions) do whatever you like. (Bukhari 6120)  [3]

Brother, imagine if your family member was to catch you staring at your Mami and committing such an immoral act, would that not disgrace you? Would people not lose respect for you?

Imagine if you marry and your wife were to be ogled at by some stranger. How would you feel?

It is pleasing to note that you have stopped that evil act. You should also make sincere Tawbah and Istighfaar and resolve never to commit such an evil act in future.

Whenever you intend committing a sin, ask yourself : “How will I answer Allah when I stand before Allah?”

Ponder and remind yourself of the following verse.

Translation: Does he not know that Allah sees. (Surah Alaq – Verse 14)
