Is the website http://www.ramadaan.co.za/d_suras_and_its_benefits.html reliable?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

I would like to ask if this site is saying the truth http://www.ramadaan.co.za/d_suras_and_its_benefits.html and if it is how do you write with saffron? Do you like get strands of saffron and then write the surah by connecting the strands? Or like how do you do it?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

The website mentioned above is divided into two different sections; physical benefits and spiritual benefits. The section containing the different physical benefits are mostly tried and tested methods known through experience. If a person decides to follow these methods, he is at liberty to do so.

The second section contains the spiritual benefits or the reward attained by reciting such remedies. There are many different rewards listed in this section and many seem to be fabrications or unreliable. A person should not have a firm belief that he will attain every reward listed in this section.

The different remedies related to saffron usually mention consuming water that was used to wash off specific phrases written with saffron.

The method of writing with saffron usually involves diluting the saffron with water or rose water. This forms a special kind of ink and this ink is used to write on specific items. This method is also mentioned in Molana Ashraf Ali Thanwi Saheb’s book “Remedies from the Holy Quran”.[1]
