Is Istikhaara a source of evidence?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

Can Istikhara (whether it results in a dream or anything else such as satisfaction or inclination) be used as evidence in the court of Law against somebody?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

The result of an Istikhara is sometimes a dream or an inclination of the heart. A dream or feeling of the heart is not an evidence used and accepted in a court of law.[1]
