Q: I started the procedure for buying a house in October but we are now in the Islamic month of Muharram. Is there anything in Islam about not engaging in acttivities of this sort in Muharram?
A: There are many superstitions regarding the months of Muharram and Safar. These are merely superstitions and should not be followed. You may buy and sell in any month. Shari’ah does not prohibit one from this in any month.
