If I’m a greengrocer, can I sell sandwiches with haram meat? Or anything haram for that matter… obviously for non-Muslims only…

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

This would be haram and sinful. The legal maxim is:

“Anything haram to use oneself is haram to give to another.” [Ibn Nujaym, al-Ashbah; Majalla]

The earnings from such sales would be

a) sinful;

b) filthy (khabeeth);

c) akin to riba; and

d) necessary to clear from one’s wealth;

Wassalam,

Faraz Rabbani
