Sending zakat and charity overseas

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

i wanted to know when giving mudd, no one in england is poor so is it acceptable to give it in pakistan.

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

There are numerous poor people–a lot of them Muslims–in England. Consult with local scholars and community activists for guidance on how to give to them. But it is in itself permitted to send money overseas. (Ibn Abidin, Radd al-Muhtar)

And Allah alone gives success.

Faraz Rabbani
