Is One Sinful for Repeating a Makruh Tanzihi Act?

Question:

Will I be sinful if I keep on performing a makruh tanzihi act?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

Makruh acts (disliked/detestable) are of two types; tanzihi and tahrimi. A makruh tahrimi act is closer to the category of haram and is that which if committed is punishable in the hereafter. Makruh tanzihi is that which is committed is not punishable and it is not counted as a sin, it is closer to the category of halal but it is disliked or discouraged by shari’a.1

If a makruh tanzihi act is continuously repeated it does not become makruh tahrimi because it was never a minor sin or punishable, to begin with, however as the act itself is disliked then repeating it continuously will also be disliked/discouraged.
