Dealing with Anger

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by CouncilofUlama.co.za

Q: Kindly advise me what I can read to let go of anger. I have so much anger bottled up inside me, which resulted from my in laws especially my mother in law who treated me badly during my pregnancy and who still continues to treat me badly. My husband refuses to confront her about anything as he says he cannot and will never do so.

A: To save oneself from venting ones anger one should recite tawwuz and durood in abundance. However if one follows a golden rule one can be saved from many an angry moment. And that is: do not expect anyone to fulfill your rights and you yourself make every effort to fulfill the rights of others. If anyone does fulfill your rights then make shukr.
