Assalamualaykum Q1) I would like to know that if its bidah to get together and read Yaseen for some one whos passed away?If yes then why do the Ulama e deoband do Yassen ka katam when some one passes away? Q2) Did our beloved Prophet Sallal lahu alay he wassalam or the sahabah do Yaseen ka katam together?

The prevalent collective Khatm Yaseen is not free from being makrooh. People should avoid it.
