Kindly Clarify the statement of Imam Abu Hanfia, “If I say something that goes against the Book of Allah or the report of the Messenger then ignore what I say.”
The statement of the great scholar imam Abu Hanifa means that anything he said was stated in the light of the Koran and the Hadith. And he meant to say that anything I said which is in contradiction to these two primary sources, should you find it wrong, leave my statement and take what is in the primary sources.
He stated this because he knew that he could not have stated anything against those two sources such that if someone by chance finds something against his statement in the primary sources then he should reject the statement.
