Salaat Niyyath to be said out loud or not ?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by ShariahBoard.org
I wanted to ask that when we stand for fardh prayers, do we have to verbally say our niyyath, or can we just start the prayer as long as in our heart we know what we our praying. Meaning, do I have to verbally say “I am praying 4 rak’aats fardh of Zuhr prayer” etc, or if I know it in my heart can I just start prayer without verbally saying the niyyath out loud?
It’s not necessary to orally make an intention. You can start the prayer if you know in your mind which prayer you are praying, in which direction and for whom you are praying.
