I purchased 100 shares from a company that has dealings with breweries and Hustler. Is the money acquired from the sale of such shares Halaal?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

The company has dealings in MediaPrinting, publishing Hustler and Scope magazines and also deals with SABreweries.

Answer

It is not permissible to purchase shares in companies which deal in
Haraam like the ones mentioned in your query. If such shares had been
purchased, they must be disposed of. You can retain for your use the
original purchase price from the sale of such shares.

The balance must be distributed to the poor and needy without the intention
of gaining reward.
