Can Someone Suffering From Eczema Perform Tayammum Instead of Wudhu

Question

My wife has been diagnosed with eczema on her right hand. it’s been spreading from the palm of her hand to the back of a few of her fingers.

The doctor said she must avoid water as much as possible. She puts on gloves when washing the dishes, or doing the housework, but doing wudhu is going to be an issue.

Until she’s fully recovered can she do Tayammum otherwise what is the ruling in such a situation?

In the name of Allah; the most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Answer

When performing wudhu, if washing is not an option then masah (passing of wet fingers) should be done upon the limbs affected by eczema and the unaffected areas will need to be washed as normal.[1]
