What is Dukhaan?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by DarulIftaBirmingham

Question

What is the Dukhaan (smoke) mentioned in the Quran?

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيْم

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

As stated in the tafsir of Ibn Katheer: The smoke is one of the awaited signs (of the Hour). This is also the apparent meaning of Ayat in the Qur’an. Allah says: “Then wait for the Day when the sky will bring forth a visible smoke” meaning, clearly visible, such that all people will see it. (1)

Only Allah knows best
