Is it wajib to do Sajdah Tilawah when reading an English translation of the Qur’an?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulfiqh.com

Question:

Is it wajib to do sajdah-e-tilwah when reading an English translation of the Qur’an? What about listening to an English translation?

Answer:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

It is wājib upon the reciter to perform sajdah tilāwah when reading an English translation of a sajdah verse.[1]

And Allah Ta’ālā Knows Best
