Donating organs after you die.

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by DarulUloomTT.net

Q. I got an application for a driver’s permit and there was a section that asked if I would like to donate my organs to the Hospital after I die. I started thinking that it could save lives and it would be a continuous charity that I can still reap rewards of in the grave. But on the other side, I am thinking whether it is halaal to do this?

A. Our body and all its parts are given to us by Allah and He is the sole owner. He has given us our organs and limbs so that we may use them in a manner He has prescribed. When we die, we return to Allah with our body, and soul. As such, since He is the owner of our bodies, it will not be permissible for us to donate an organ to anyone in the manner you have described. This is strictly prohibited in Islam. You can do many other actions to ensure that your rewards continue after you die.

And Allah knows best.
