QUESTION:
As Salaamu Alaikum,
Is it permissible to perform Qadah Salaat after sunrise?
ANSWER:
Wa Alaikum As Salaam,
Yes, after the sun has risen completely, then it is permissible to perform Qadha, but performing Nafl (optional Salah) is not permissible at this time. Only after 15 or 20 minutes after sunrise, it will be permissible to perform Nafl Salah. (Radd Al Muhtar Vol. 2 page. 66 H.M Saeed Karachi),
It is to be noted that when the sun begins to rise, it is prohibited to perform Qadha Salah as well as Nafl Salah. One must therefore wait until the entire sun is above the horizon where it has risen completely, before performing the Qadha Salah. (Kitabul Fatawa Vol. 2 Page 426 Zam Zam Publishers Karachi 2007).
