Triple Divorce in Islam .

Question:

Assalamualaikum

my husband exclaimed a triple divorce in anger and he didn’t notice what he was doing at the time. He did it because of his family’s pressure.

Please guide me.

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Answer:

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakaatuh,

If someone gives three divorces at once it is binding and all three will fall into effect.

Divorce given in the state of anger is also binding unless the anger reached a level of insanity. However, it is necessary that the person has previous medical history of insanity, or has been diagnosed by the doctor of being of unstable mind, or has two male witness or one male and two female witnesses testifying that in fact on that occasion the person had indeed lost his sanity, then the divorce will not take effect.[1]
