Speaking about a bad dream

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Is it correct that if a person has a bad dream, then he should not tell anyone for 3 days, and why is this so?

Bismillaah

A: There is no time limit mentioned in the Hadith. Rather, it is mentioned in the Hadith that one should avoid speaking about the dream and seek Allah Ta’ala’s protection. Speaking about the dream may cause one mental worry.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
