Will not being intimate with one’s wife affect the nikaah?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: If a husband wife don’t have sex for 5-6 months or more after their child was born, will it affect their nikaah in any way? They eat and sleep together and they both are happy with only one child. Somebody said that if they don’t have sex for a long time it will affect their nikaah.

Bismillaah

A: No, it does not affect the nikaah.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
