Giving the value of a qurbaani animal to a poor widow instead of doing qurbaani

Q: Can we give the money of a qurbaani animal to a poor needy widow instead of doing the qurbaani ourselves or do we the qurbani and then sell the meat and give the amount to her?

Bismillaah

A: Do the qurbaani. It is not right for you to sell the meat. You may give her the meat. If she wishes to sell it she may sell it.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
