Will one be absolved of qadha salaah after performing hajj?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: If somebody had missed a lot of prayers in his life and then he performs hajj, is he required to offer qaza of previously missed prayers or not?

Bismillaah

A: Hajj is a separate obligation and salaah is a separate obligation. Through discharging one obligation one will not be absolved of the other obligation. Rather one is required to fulfil both obligations. Just as we understand that one will not be absolved of qaza salaah through observing the fard fast of Ramadhaan, similarly one will not be absolved of qaza salaah through performing the fard hajj.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
