Bowing down to one’s husband

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Last night myself and my husband were having an argument about him being a bully. I bowed down to my husband to prove to him he is always right and I am wrong. Not realizing what I was doing. Is this shirk and does this nullify my nikaah?

Bismillaah

A: Though this is not shirk, it is a major sin. It is not permissible to bow down before any person. You should make tawbah and refrain from this in the future. Your nikaah is intact.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
