Sins cause bodily weakness and hardness of the heart

إن للذنوب ضعفا في القوة وقسوة في القلب وإن للحسنات قوة في البدن ونورا في القلب

Answer

Imam Bayhaqi (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration as the statement of the famous Imam and Saint, Ibrahim ibn Adham (rahimahullah).

(Shu’abul Iman, Hadith: 6827)

Translation

Certainly sins cause weakness in a person’s strength and hardness of the heart. Good deeds create bodily strength and light in the heart.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
