My current job does not use the skills (acquired during education and previous work) that I have ,i want to quit my job , what is the Islamic view on this .

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

I do not like the work I am doing because it is not challenging and I think it does not have good future prospect of growth . But the current US market condition is not good and its really difficult to find a job .I think I am not able to work Honestly.I also want to support my family as well .Please tell me what does Islam say for such a situation .

Answer

If it is difficult to find a job and you have to support your family and
dependants, you should continue with the present employment and search for
an alternate employment suitable to your skills. However, in doing so, you
should place your religious obligations first.

You should avoid undertaking an employment wherein you will be compromising
on your religious values and principles.
