Asking forgiveness from the person one had forced into zina

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Is it sufficient if a person asks forgiveness to Allah only for zina, or should he also make amends to the person with whom he committed the act?

Bismillaah

A: If one had forced someone in committing zina, then together with asking Allah Ta’ala’s forgiveness, he should also ask the person who he had oppressed and forced them in the sin. However, if both people had committed zina wilfully, then they both should seek Allah Ta’ala’s forgiveness.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
