We all family members gather once a while on a holiday and before having our lunch, we all sit with children and recite durood shareef. A member of our family had arrived from abroad and did not attend the family gathering with a note that instead of reciting durood e shareef it would be better to read Quran e Majeed with its meaning. Please reply if our family member who did not attend has a fair stand?

Both the opinions are right; first recite durood and then recite the Holy Quran with authentic translation.
