Greeting a non-Muslim with the words “na maste”

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Is it permissible for a Muslim to greet a non Muslim with the words na maste etc?

Bismillaah

A: This is not permissible. This is a Hindu greeting  and is exclusive to Hinduism. Therefore it is not permissible for a Muslim to emulate the Hindus in their form of greeting. A Muslim should totally refrain from this.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
