Prayer and Urine: What to Do When Drops Come Out After Wudhu?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I am a student of engineering. I have a problem that when after passing urine and also cleaning it with tissue for 2-3 minutes but when I come out of the washroom, after doing wudhu, in prayer some urine comes out. Sometimes the drops are visible but sometimes they dry out. My Question is that should I continue my prayer? If they dry out then what should I do? I mean then what will be the procedure to clean myself, clothes? Will my wudhu be broken?

Bismillaah

A: If urine comes out after performing wudhu or during your salaah, then the wudhu will break. After cleaning oneself, the wudhu will have to be repeated and thereafter the salaah will have to be performed. After passing urine, do not make wudhu immediately. Instead wait for a little while (e.g. 15-20 minutes). Place tissue paper on that area so that the remainder urine drops will be absorbed in the tissue paper. Once all the urine drops have come out you should make wudhu and perform your Salaah.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
