Shaafi

My husband and I were having an argument during which he became very angry and said I give you talaaq three times. There were no witnesses. When he became calmer he told me he does not mean it. Does this mean we are divorced? I have read that in order for the divorce to be binding the husband has to say it on three separate occasions and that saying it three times on one occasion does not constitute a divorce. Also as he was very angry at the time does this mean it was not a true divorce. Please could you help me in this matter?
