Jinn taking human form

Answered as per Shafi'i Fiqh by Seekersguidance.org

Question: Is it possible for Jinn to take human form?

Answer:

Wa alaykum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

Dear questioner,

Thank you for your important question.

Yes, Jinn can take human form. For example, the Devil took the form of humans on more than one occasion, and a Jinn took the form of a beggar when Abu Hurayra was in charge of the zakat collections during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and grant him peace). (Sira Ibn Ishaq; Fath al Bari, Ibn Hajar al Asqalani; Taghliq al Taliq, Ibn Hajar al Asqalani; Sahih Ibn Khuzayma; Bujayrami ala al Khatib)

If we believe in the Qur’an, to begin with, and we believe in the Jinn, there is no logical problem with this happening.
