Giving unslaughtered meat to a non-Muslim

Answered as per Shafi'i Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Shaykh Amjad Rasheed

Is it permissible for a Muslim to give a gift of unslaughtered meat to a non-Muslim?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

It would appear that it is not permissible, based on what our imams have relied upon; that non-Muslims are accountable for details of the shari`ah. They have mentioned in the chapter of fasting, “that it is haram to give food to a non-Muslim during the day of Ramadan, because they are responsible for details of the shari`ah, and giving one food in that case would be assisting him in disobedience.
