Q: What are the conditions of Hajj and Umrah? Please elaborate.
A: There are five basic conditions/prerequisites of Hajj and Umrah which are of three categories. They are as follows:

1. Islām and soundness of mind are conditions of obligation and validity.

2. Having reached puberty and complete freedom are conditions of obligation and sufficiency.

3. Capability is a condition of obligation.

These are the five conditions of hajj and umrah.
